Hoskins then emailed election officials telling counties to use HB 1, and opponents immediately went back to the MO Supreme Court arguing that he had just violated its injunction. Now the MO Supreme Court has ordered Hoskins to appear personally and explain why he should not be held in contempt.

Elections are held by states. The state supreme court ruled. He is defying that ruling. Hoskins should be held in contempt.

Contempt of Court or Direct Contempt of court, has severe penalties including immediate jail. and fines. If he refuses in front of the judge to use the old maps, that is called Direct Contempt. (meaning in court, in front of the judge) And it weighs heavy on anyone convicted.

Kansas City is an interesting city in that it occupies four counties. It has always had a crazy political history, but the gerrymandered map is the worst thing ever to happen to it if allowed to stand.
