That's been Trump's business model forever. Growing up in the NY/NJ area everyone had stories about contractors they knew that got shafted by that dipshit. Money up front, otherwise you complete a job and he says "yeah, I don't think it's worth X, I'll give you Y and you'll like it".

This is just bonkers. The CNN poll of Michigan finds that 60% of noncollege voters say Trump's tariffs on Canada are bad for the state, and 57% of noncollege whites say the same. Working class roundly rejecting Trump's tariffs is narrative-exploding stuff.

I think they're playing it just right. If Canada does more than simply responding the right wing media will have a feild day painting them as an aggressor. A simple application of pressure will keep showing GOP voters where this will lead when Canda won't give into Trump's tactics.

No one seems to not want to say no to this guy. Trump gets along with companies that are good at exchanging bribes. I imagine they pay the bribe, then they can both screw over the Americans. Canada most not work that way.
