One user observes visible borders between Belgium/France and Germany/Poland in species distribution despite no physical boundary, speculating about data normalization differences between countries; another points to a book on starling murmurations and a parallel East Africa biodiversity monitoring platform.
“It's odd that you can see the borders between Belgium and France for various birds (like the swift and cuckoo), same for the border between Germany and Poland.”
