People want things based on vibes instead of facts.

I also got a demanding "reminder" that I saw at the same time as the initial notice. If compliance is such a big deal, packages should arrive further ahead of the deadline so people who don't/can't check their mail for one week in that period don't get pestered for living their lives and not being available 24/7.
