I mean you can clearly see it's very intentionally designed to be clunky and slow. The long recovery animations and restrictive stamina system weren't made by accident. My problem with it isn't that it's clumsy/bad, it's that there's about three times as much combat as there should be lol. It'd feel a lot less offensive if there wasn't a massive…

That statement is technically true of any silent hill game though. It's just the town name and now the franchise name. It's not like 2's story referenced the events of 1. The strongest thread SH has pulling through every game is the general vibe of the abandoned foggy town setting and the radio mechanic (and arguably the style of creature design)…

The way most of this reviews literally lie about the game or would need to be made by someone who has zero media literacy is insane. The game is extremely unremarkable in it's story, the strongest aspect is the presentation of the town which falls flat due to extremely lacking level design. Plus decitions were not made by konami, the game was…

A highly anticipated Insomniac game vs. a genre which rates very harshly. This is not an apples to apples comparison in anyway you cut it, a horror game getting an 80~90 puts it at the top of the entire genre. Alien Isolation, considered to be one of if not the best immersive horror game ever made only scored 79.

“The combat is supposed to suck” is crazy cope. Monsters being able to attack through walls, but if you’re within 5 feet of a wall your own attack hits the wall stuns you. That’s not “claustrophobic tense” combat. Thats frustrating shit design.
-
I mean, you can count the failures on 1 hand since RE7, but you only need 2 to account for all the game that are worth mentioning since then either. So the ratio is a bit larger than negligible even if it is still the minority.

yeah, eating good with 2 releases a YEAR. great games, just wish there were more horror releases in general. Cronos was good, and RE9, and this looks promising. but 3 games in 2026? that's not eating good necessarily.
-
For real and I do not know why. People are so negative nowadays, it has to be their opinion otherwise it's wrong, even though they do not even know how the game is going to be, because it ain't even out yet
-
Wilds and DD2 have also been rectifying their greatest issues and are coming out with two really good looking expansions soon. Just a lot of cool stuff all around from them
-
Now let's just get the Silent Hill grognards to give it a 0/10 because it doesn't take place in the American town of Silent Hill and therefore isn't a Silent Hill game 🙄
-
All I wanna know is how's the music coz music is what makes me revisit SH again and again. SH1/2/3/4 won't be the same without one of the best music in gaming.
-
I love horror so much, I love the aesthetic, the creativity, the vibe, but as Fanny Bigelow III, I can't handle jumpscares, so it's a no no 🙁
-
Silent Hill is more about atmosphere, so you don't got an excuse :-P There's usually like 1 or 2 per game just so you don't get too cozy.
-
The problem with Wolverine isn’t the scoring is the extremely linearity, predictable gameplay and handholding.
-
That’s another one I’ve been looking forward to! Graphically it looks amazing so far.
