While many agreed 'High Anxiety' deserves more recognition, some commenters maintained that 'Young Frankenstein' and 'Blazing Saddles' remain Brooks's peak works, though acknowledging this film's merit.

The funniest part is, In the classic comedy film High Anxiety (1977) directed by Mel Brooks, the dramatic, tense background music playing during the taxi ride is coming from a passing bus filled with a full symphony orchestra rehearsing with their windows down. 😅

This came out my senior year in high school and I loved it. After seeing it the second time, I recommended it to my (quite conservative) aunt and uncle. They didn't take my suggestion since I had also recommended Blazing Saddles a few years before. 🤣

They are the flashiest, which is why I think they get more attention. There is a subtlety (at times) in "HA" that is homage to Hitchcock, but there is no moment that isn't just as good a schtick-a-second comedy as those two.

The Producers, Blazing Saddles & Young Frankenstein are his holy trinity. imho, anyone of those three is his best, depending on the day & mood.
