Latvia led at 97.7% renewable electricity (mostly hydro and solar), followed by Denmark at 94.3% (mostly wind) and Croatia at 92.2% (mostly hydro). Slovakia, Czechia, and Malta trailed at 19.8%, 20.9%, and 24.5% respectively, exposing significant regional imbalances in renewable capacity.

For now, renewables can save the day, and maybe they are worth the investment, but NEVER get rid of fossil fuel generation plants entirely, because in the future they may be the ONLY method of electricity other than Nuclear. So why new houses can not have electricity and we pay those crazy prices? Really, I would like to have a rationale answer, because there are no enough capacity, and you only hear everywhere the investment in infrastructure has not been enough to handle the current situation and billons are needed. The grid is over capacity because we underestimated how fast our demand would grow and spread. Prices are high because we are working to catch up again and because of multiple global geopolitical issues.

Not to mention that the goal is going to keep moving because this is only electricity and ignoring the other 80% of fossil fuelled power consumption that is transport, heating and manufacturing.
