Loads of ai sh!te and I block the account. There's fruckall need for it on social media. I like my cartoons drawn by humans. My news stories written by people. Human created art. (I'm also judging their sh!te ai against the huge environmental cost. Every time.)

I agree 100%. Nevertheless, there are better AIs emerging elsewhere, for example Ecosia.org or euria.infomaniak.com The latter one is hosted in Switzerland, stores zero data and uses surplus energy to heat homes.

Not to be nerdly pedantic? But these new AI data centers are not for generating cat videos, imho. They're for molding 13th generation LLMs. And for turning enormous piles of our personal data into actionable intelligence. Still. The propriety of Gen AI is totally debatable. I'll only say this:

People aren’t against AI data centers! They’re against them not paying upgrade costs for electric! Against the loud noise! Against them not having their own water sources! Against them not having protections on the AI system to protect people! Against not having job training program for lost jobs!
