Moldova's parliament approves 60-day emergency declaration for energy and water

The 101-seat legislature voted 54-20 to impose a 60-day state of emergency in the energy and water sectors, effective Saturday. The vote was requested to give authorities faster intervention powers amid severely low Dniester River water levels and global conflicts driving up energy costs.
