NOAA confirms it as first known West Coast nesting of the species

NOAA identified the animals as olive ridley sea turtles, a small tropical species usually nesting in Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, and said this is the first known case of the species nesting anywhere in the United States; the nests will stay fenced and monitored for 45 to 60 days.
