UN projects 10,000 more refugees to Djibouti, 230,000 newly displaced in Yemen

UNHCR spokesman Babar Baloch warned that renewed fighting could drive 10,000 additional refugees across the Red Sea to Djibouti in coming months and swell internal displacement to over 230,000 people. The agency said it was bracing for higher numbers after mid-October when sea conditions improve. Baloch also noted that UNHCR's Yemen operation is only 18 percent funded, with $25 million urgently needed.
