Prediction market platform Kalshi filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission seeking approval to offer leverage on event contracts through its internal clearing house, Kalshi Klear. The filing aims to allow traders to borrow money to purchase more assets than their cash positions.
“Offering margin trading, which allows a trader to borrow money to purchase more of an asset than the cash they put down, has been seen widely by institutions eyeing the prediction market space as a critical step needed for bigger players to participate.”
