A commenter countered the dominant narrative, arguing El-Sayed's weaker standing among Black voters in Michigan stems from ads run during his primary race against Stevens rather than the uncommitted movement.
“His supposed lack of support in the Black community in MI traces not to Uncommitted but rather to the primary race against Stevens.”

👉 ❤️ It is so REFRESHING to listen to a politician who STAYS on message, uses CLEAR and PLAIN language... Abdul is too damn good! "With 42 days until Election Day, the race to control Congress is now in high gear. Kamala Harris joins Abdul El-Sayed at a roundtable in Detroit." @pbsnews.org

Any segment of Democrats, from ANYwhere on the political spectrum spanning the party, who withholds their vote because the nominee is not where they want them to be on said spectrum, is causing longterm damage to the nation.

Imagine hearing Kamala Harris talk about maternal healthcare, an issue where Black women are literally dying at disproportionate rates, and your contribution is “but she lost to Trump.” Deep stuff, man.
-
I wish Harris had fired the Clinton-Obama era cartel who managed her campaign right into a ditch. Those folks committed so many inexcusable unforced errors. Got the shaft from BidenTown, too. Also inexcusable. I think she would have done much better on her own. Her and Walz were a great team.

Too many racist misogynists in this country , male and female, to elect a woman, particularly a woman of color
-
He is FANTASTIC. As a former Michigander, I can tell he was born in the mitten and spent his life there! He KNOWS the people of Michigan and he is the right person to represent them. I hope Michigan does themselves a favor and elects this man!
-
The corrupt $billionaire propagandists who own the GOP, AI, and most influential media outlets (main and social) pushed sophisticated segmented misleading hate propaganda that’s led to continued theft of working class wealth health safety and political influence We are under attack
-
His supposed lack of support in the Black community in MI traces not to Uncommitted but rather to the primary race against Stevens. It was Stevens and/or her allies who ran ads suggesting El-Sayed was "disrespectful" to Harris (& Michelle Obama). It's important that Harris is seen alongside him.
-
No. Democrats who didn't oppose Genocide and Trump voters got you Trump a second time.
-
lol he looks like a kid called to the Principal's office.
-
Well, the fact that El Sayed is against funding the Israeli genocide in any way should be the deciding factor. But now you have to factor in what the centrist dems who dont care about genocide might do. Which makes it an unknown again.
-
His fucking facial expressions when she is talking infuriate me. What a entitled narcissistic asshole.
-
Quiet, you don’t want people knowing you’re ignorant online!
-
I was thrilled to see this. Incredible display of unity. Gives me hope that this party will unite and fight as one. Unity wins.
-
No he wouldn't have. She is talking about women's issues and specifically the problems that women of color face in the healthcare industry. She is the perfect person to discuss the topic.
-
We could have had nice things. It’s hard to listen to intelligent, competent and honorable people. Because we have a corrupt loaded diaper wannabe dictator
-
Then his supporters better fix their Goddamn mouths about Kamala 😒
-
With turnouts like this perhaps the USA deserves to fail .
-
let's not beat around the bush. Muslims in MI fucked the Palestinians by being too ignorant to see the obvious that with Harris the Palestinian cause could at least be heard by POTUS, even if not getting much of what they wanted, but with trump they'd be completely shut out getting nothing, like now
-
N
Isn't it a shame that black support, and Muslim support, and women's support, etc. are still separate things? I'd hoped we would've advanced more as a society by now.
-
Ugh his fucking face whenever a woman talks. Kamala is dedicated as fuck because I would never …
-
F
I love Kamala. Voted for her. She was given a crap place to start from. Shameful.
-
M
Apparently Harris doesn't think like you do.
-
I can appreciate how Harris would be completely justified in saying she's out if a man is going to benefit from her work, but she's putting her energies where they matter. El-Sayed knows she's an asset, not a liability. We could have had her!!!!
