Nine months after his forceful defense of abortion providers, Newsom blocked legislation that would have prohibited future governors from extraditing abortion providers, helpers, patients, and those seeking gender-affirming care to other states. Newsom argues extradition decisions should remain an executive function rather than being written into law.
