Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Chuck Schumer released a report documenting an estimated $190 billion in tax breaks and subsidies secured by the fossil fuel industry over the next decade in exchange for campaign donations. The report details 26 senior fossil fuel industry veterans appointed across EPA, energy, and interior departments, and accuses the Trump administration of abusing the Clean Air Act by exempting more than 180 polluting facilities from pollution controls.
