TechCrunch reported the deal grew out of Databricks' own finance team using Row Zero alongside Genie, and noted the acquisition follows Quotient AI, SiftD.ai, Panther, and Electric earlier in 2026; Ghodsi said Databricks plans to keep acquiring startups.
