There is no where for the excess capacity to go. Refineries would simply be forced to produce less diesel. false. we produce more diesel than we consume. I forget the exact figure but its more than a 1m bbl/day surplus. this means we run out of storage room real quick for diesel so refineries would have to cut overall production thus driving the price of gasoline higher.
