We already are. We saw the US auto industry go through a bifurcation several years ago in response to the toxic approach of US lawmakers towards EVs. Which US models are actually sold in significant numbers outside the US? I’m in the UK, and apart from Tesla, you rarely see American models on the road. Ford sells plenty of cars here, of course, but the models it sells in Europe are largely different from its US range.
