The irony of rolling back fuel economy standards when fuel prices are up an average of 40+% across the country. I wonder if it even matters, seems like most folks shopping for a car right now will be wanting more fuel economy not less. Not that we should be losing sight of how evil they are.

I thought he also rolled back vehicle standards his first term, in addition to doing them other big favors like putting tariffs on solar panel imports (costing more US jobs in solar construction than it could ever save in chip-making) and interfering with wind farm projects.

My question is, are the automakers stupid enough to go along with this? After all, Trump’s gone after 2028 and hopefully before if the Republicans ever grow a spine. If not a Democrat President (if one is elected) will just roll everything back and I think that would be quite costly for the company
