I dont remember him shit talking other players or acting like he was underrated/above competition. He was relentlessly optimistic and very positive about the team despite having little success. I feel like JJ not being able to stay healthy is the ultimate knock against him. He’s young and clearly needs a lot of coaching but he can’t stay healthy enough to string together a full season of starts and get meaningful reps. Even if JJ pulls a Sam Darnold and develops into a legit starter I don’t think the Vikings are wrong for cutting bait…

I generally get that logic. There's no point in paying a WR who is slightly past prime and just overperformed, when there will be a comprably good one in the draft. But I feel like QB is a little too special for that, especially when your guy balled out in a huge way his first year in a new system. And your alternative is the 5th QB.

The NFL does but JJ needs a LOT of development and I take it our brass looked at that and his injury history and decided it was best to cut bait now. I don't agree with it but Idk what else we could have done with the time he was available to suit up.

Low balling Darnold was not the right move. Dude gets you 14 wins, clearly has some mojo with O'Connell, and you not only let him walk, you encouraged him to walk with a disrespectful contract offer.

Drafting JJM top-10 without ever planning on starting him ever is even worse right? Whether it was now or later, they voted to move on from Darnold the minute they agreed to turn the card in.

Maybe it’s too bold to assume but I figured the head coach would have alot of say as well. Maybe it was just the GM falling in love. Sad either way wasting a whole year as a result

Defense probably had a lot to do with it but he made some plays and do we do this with every quarterback? Brady had top defenses too for many years.
