This is just going to speed up the depletion of our strategic reserves. Trump is going to pull so much out of the SPR that he is going to cause the salt caves they used to store it to collapse. It’s a matter of when not if at this point and then that reserve is gone there will be no more safety valve and the US will not have oil reserves for…

I do hope they drag their feet just long enough to delay any price declines until after the U.S. elections, for their own sake.

Not I, my friend. I suggest you do some reading and take a much closer look at what has been happening in the US since Jan 2025 and how it follows the well researched and documented authoritarian takeover pattern. The competitive authoritarianism designation was made by experts in that field. Perhaps you've been away too long.

Hindsight is 20/20. I don't think anyone in Europe wanted to risk it with a particularly harsher winter coming up, shadowed by the potential of Russian mobilisation in Ukraine. It became a a much realer threat once he started to single out Europe and it's nations for the diesel ban instead of blanket banning the entire world

The Trump administration is pressuring European capitals to release their emergency diesel supplies or else face a US diesel export ban, as the White House turns to coercion in efforts to tame surging fuel prices.

I don’t and have never expected either Britain or France to use their nukes to protect Canada, which is why I want Canada to acquire nukes. However, I highly doubt the French or especially the UK would use their nukes to protect Europe, if they themselves were not under threat.

This is madness. The world is on the verge of a crisis, it's inevitable, but any attempts to postpone it will just make it worse when it finally happens. Trump: Yes, but it'll happen after the election!

If the US banned exports, EU would have had to release reserves anyways. So it's either a choice between exportban+noreserves or just noreserves and EU choose the rational course of action.
