Global News published analysis of satellite imagery and weather records reviewed by seven Canadian wildfire experts. The analysis found that Environment Canada had issued wind warnings the day before, and base leadership should have anticipated the danger despite the military's account of an unexpected 'uncommonly strong winds' event.
“This was not unexpected given the forecast cold front, the actively spreading fire and the wind warnings that were issued earlier in the day”

Because this keeps happening at least in AB go talk to people that live next to the base and a fire starts on base the base does nothing and when it crosses off the base they wash their hands of it. The only reason this got attention was people were killed The only way this is going to change is if people responsible are held responsible

If Joe Redneck playing with tannerite would have done the same thing that day there would probably be charges of negligent homicide
