“Stocks ripped higher on Wednesday after a decisive victory by Democrats in the U.S. midterm elections removed political risk that was hanging over Wall Street.”

The S&P500 is a decent guage for the wider US market and if you are gonna make any claims about "the market", then it needs to hold up for large ETFs.
