26 years ago today, the first crew arrived aboard the international space station, marking the beginning of a continuous human presence in space. there hasn’t been a single day since november 2, 2000 that humanity hasn’t had someone living in space.

How amazing the human engineering spirit had made things like the ISS and Mir possible. I also love that no matter what is happening on the Earth, there are people from all over the world learning how to work together in space. I hope that we can all learn how to do that, regardless of our differences.

Where did that come from? The US is actively planning to continue a presence in LEO post ISS through commercial stations. And if the stations are not ready by the stipulated deadline jared said that the ISS will simply continue to be kept operational.

i remember those arguments too, especially about the insane expense. it's wild to think how far it's come since then.
