It would not surprise me to see anyone wearing these new Apple Watches getting the same level of contempt as those wearing pervert glasses. We should not normalize constant recording without consent.

With audio intelligence features coming to Apple Watch (audio rewind and Siri recap) is step in the direction of showing Apple's AI wearables are hiding in plain sight. Between Apple devices with cameras and microphones Apple has all the pieces in place to be smart eyes and ears for customers.

Woah, “Audio Intelligence” means your Apple Watch can recognize audio around you like doorbells, Live Rewind lets you can see a transcript of something just said, and Siri “Recaps” can show you an AI summary of conversations. Toggle on or off, just at work, not at night, etc.

Apple killed support for three generations of Apple Watch hardware with its latest OS update: Series 6, Series 7, Series 8, and the original Apple Watch Ultra. So much for its commitment to the environment, perfectly capable hardware is being sent to the bin.There's literally no new features on the watch. Adding in AI nonsense.

Apple's marketing department is amazing, however, they just don't line up with the engineering department. I quit Apple long ago because they overhyped so many things, it feels misleading intentionally sometimes.Very good marketers though, I'll give them that.

Huh, this "Readiness" innovation seems really similar to the "HybridCharge" my Amazfit watch has had for a couple of years (but obviously at literally 10x the price, but you do whatever you want with your money, chaps...)

Absolutely par for the course for Apple. They wrecked both my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 with the version 7 of the OS to the almost unusable state. I remember reading about several such "upgrades" in more recent years too.

I bought an Ultra 3 and was quite disappointed with it. The heart rate monitor frequency is really low. I'm glad to see they have at least fixed that. I dual-wield right now with a Fitbit Air to supplement the data.

Maybe it's just a general fatigue from AI, notifications, microphones, and cameras everywhere, but I'm pretty sure my next watch will be something from Germany or Switzerland containing springs and gears.

I seriously am surprised there are no class action suits around the crippling of older devices that is happening these days. Google Home speakers are prime example of that.
