At an energy panel, Suncor CEO Rich Kruger and OPG CEO Nicolle Butcher told investors that streamlined project approvals and Canada's resource base and nuclear expertise made the country newly attractive, with companies revisiting Canadian investment plans in response to regulatory shifts and the new tax incentives.
“After 42 years in this industry, 11 years as a CEO with Canada's two largest integrated oil companies, I am as encouraged or optimistic today as I've ever been for what our future holds.”

Remember that time… like 10 minutes ago… when we all had to vote Liberal because “otherwise we get the Conservatives.” Well… after a day of selling off our airports and slashing corporate taxes on new investment to levels never seen in a modern economy (a $48 Billion gift with no budget line item yet), we end the day, and Carney’s Trillion Dollar…

I smelled your fart in the hurricane. There is a lot of apprehension about this because on the surface it sounds like there is a fire-sale on what "Canada Owns", however there is more nuance to all of this. People seme to be reacting to the word “privatization” more than to what’s actually being proposed. Canada isn’t selling Pearson, YVR, Calgary…

'Canadians are struggling to afford rent and the cost of living, and need more investment in education, transit and health care.' "Carney is doing the opposite of that (…). He is selling our public resources without any guaranteed returns and at the same time growing industries that will push the world towards greater war and climate catastrophe."…

Canada needs to build a lot of new infrastructure as we move our economy away from dependency on American trade. This requires huge investments of capital to build the assets needed. To incentivize the private sector to take the risks associated with this major pivot and to attract capital investment, the Carney government will reduce taxes on…

Your comment is very vague. What is the thing or two that the rest of Canada can learn from the unique style of Alberta's politics that will lead to decent private sector job growth in the rest of Canada, and why aren't you sharing your secrets with the rest of the country? If we can all benefit from such wisdom and policy then please share with…

Look, I’m not in favour of painting anybody with a broad stroke brush, which is why it was very clear to say trump aligned flank . But Pierre specifically focussed on courting that particular group from the PPC. We cannot divorce party strategy, six years of deliberate and calculated plans of building a new base. Polling data shows this time and…

I’m not saying get rid of the tolls though, I’m not sure if you read my whole response. I have no problem paying a toll, but the toll now is unreasonable. Even at 1/3 of the price it’s still 30$. Compared to toll roads around the world, even US who are hyper capitalistic, that ~80km drive do not cost 90$ anywhere else.

Necessary Global Funds and investors will include American citizens and businesses naturally - so if your talking about Blackrock or Blackstone fine - but no Trump appointed figures or political entities were invited or attending. To suggest otherwise as Avi is trying to do, is alarmist and disillusioned.

He's just doing his job as a nation's leader by trying to attract capital. Yup which is completely different than being a safe harbor for global finance. He's trying to do his best to fix his economy and shore everything up now that their biggest trade partner has absolutely shafted him.

We welcome back Neoliberalism so that Canada can be stripped for parts! Canadians do love to double down on stuff that never works

How so? PP seems completely irrelevant to Canadian politics atm, outside of being an anchor around the neck of the Conservatives.
