GoFundMe is basically a popularity contest and the prize is hopefully not becoming bankrupt. So dystopian. Especially when so many racists have used it to raise money for their racist behavior.

Thank Reagan for "trickle down" economics. Under Trump, billionaires will decide what cuts to make to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran's benefits, education for poorer states, food stamps for hungry children in order to fund an extension of Trump's tax breaks for billionaires.

Past two years? Pretty sure they have been pushing this hard since the 80s. They’re speed running now for sure, but that’s because they’re trying to extract as much capital as possible before the coming collapse that cannot be held off much longer.

I was part of that system for all of my working life. I watched it spiral out of control, beginning with Reagan & his declaration of health care as a business which suddenly funneled huge amts of money from patient care to advertising & expensive administrators. But the students ARE a great story.

The privatization of necessary services, at added expense to the taxpayer through government subsidies, has got to end. Neoliberalism has FAILED at every level of it implementation. The private sector will not solve any problems that doesn’t make it profit, and we’re ALSO giving them subsidies

I had insurance through my dad when I was a teenager. He had finally stepped up and added me. At 14. I got healthcare for a couple years before it flipped to an HMO. Imagine being 16 and responsible for copayments. Between Reagan destroying healthcare for millions and my parents being deadbeats…

Exactly. The technology is quite patently there. The chair exists as a manufactured item, not some science club prototype. The country the 2 year old in need is the wealthiest on the planet. The ONLY reason that the child cannot access the chair is greed and cruelty.
