Victorville used to have george air force base , which trained pilots to go over to vietnam. since they closed the base , Victorville declined. that was victorville's source of money and it's gone.

There used to be a ton of restaurants that had signs like this. Very common in the 70s, and dwindling into the 80s. My sister and I had a running joke on road trips that they were all part of a single chain. I don’t know it for a fact, but I’d bet it was actually the chains that ate them.

Used to know a guy from there. Worked at a local gas station. One day, he got bawled out by Dale Evans for being too nice to her when she pulled in to refuel.
