I look for products that are Kosher or Halal. That means there is very little chance of cross contamination with other meat, especially, but also much more likely to not have any of the issues that have been happening recently.

Do they even know what that means? Or kosher? I would rather eat these foods than others. At least I know it's clean, prepared humanly etc. No contaminated with other meats and stuff. Their loss our gain.

It's such stupid bigotry. Tillamook began using vegetable rennet 10 years ago because it's more reliable than animal rennet. Adding the halal symbol is informing their customers of this fact. It's like getting mad at a no tree nuts label or certified organic. Also, I too was born in Oregon.

I am in Connecticut, there are a few Halal markets near me, they do have great cuts of meat as well..as long as the cheese is good, and no artificial shit in it, I don't care what is printed on the back..What I can guarantee though is, I won't be getting any explosive diarrhea from it..

I am an atheist and I eat halal certified and kosher. I figure the standards are higher during production. Let the morons chose low quality. Makes it cheaper for the rest of us. That morons want low quality is just more proof Darwin was right. All hail Darwin!

FFS. When I lived in South London UK I shopped in Halal shops all the time. They people were welcoming despite my being obviously non Muslim. In fact I preferred shopping there.

Halal is really just another name for kosher. Both Jews and Muslims follow near-identical dietary rules established in ancient times when almost all members of their religions lived in the Near and Middle East before electricity & refrigeration.

Omg. That's what the Tillamook stuff was about? That's a relief, I was worried it was going to be another recall. Tillamook is top tier for grocery store cheese and a staple on my shopping list. They make great butter and ice cream too.
