jessieblueaz.bsky.social replied criticizing people for seeking "please clap" validation over basic tasks like cooking, doing laundry, or getting out of bed on time, saying she works hard and won't give "high fives" for the "bare minimum."
“If your personal bar is that low, find some fucking hustle. I work my ass off. I’m not giving high fives for your bare minimum.”

Yes, my wife is working up a little book of 'takeaways to do at home' as we have also found ourselves in such a situation.

Guys, please stop with the “please clap” when you cook for yourself, get out of bed on time, do your laundry… If your personal bar is that low, find some fucking hustle. I work my ass off. I’m not giving high fives for your bare minimum.

I need to use this as an inspiration to do this more often.

Not my joke, but: "I just moved out of the house 6 months ago, and I've realized my mom was right. We DO have food in the house."
-
I am currently on a restricted diet so eating out is No Fun. Hubby was begging to go out and I proposed an omelette (that I can eat) instead. In twenty minutes, all done. Six eggs. No leftovers.

Breakfast foods are one of our go-tos when we’re hungry but don’t want to eat out or order in! I’ve never thought to make it for myself for lunch before though.

That’s a good one. And my constant struggle. 😂

✊ (I send this because applauding hands looked snarky)

That's how you beat the system. That and bringing food in to major sporting events.

I have a twenty minute pizza dough recipe. I used to have a GIANT BILLBOARD of a pizza on the way home. This recipe saved me.

That was definitely the primary motivating factor that got me to actually do it.

Cool… And, If enough people consistently chose brick-and-mortar stores over Amazon, Jeff Bezos couldn’t simply dictate the market. Consumer spending is power: shift enough dollars to local businesses, and you reduce Amazon’s sales, influence, and ability to dominate retail. ☮️🇺🇸🇨🇦

Not a meat eater but there are certainly plenty of vegetarian things I could do this with! Just need to get over my cooking anxiety. One step at a time.
-
Literally, unironically, congratulations! I hope you enjoyed the hand-crafted meal a lot more than you would have enjoyed takeaway.

Was it a chicken Parmesan sandwich? NY style, extra saucy, with a large order of garlic knots? If so bravo!

I am not taking more than 20 minutes to make myself lunch 😂 I applaud those who do though.
-
Probably cheaper, tastier, fresher and hotter (or colder) as the case may be.
-
Why clap? I made my lunch every day in my 18 years as career teacher
-
👏you have inspired me to do the same thing so thank you!
-
Nice! Just saved yourself $20+ and tons of calories/fat.
-
Delete the app and I will give you a standing ovation

Probably not on the latter in this particular instance (was going to order something with vegan cheese on it and I used dairy cheddar instead 😂), but definitely saved $25!

This is where I’m lucky to be lacking in motivation. 😂 Cookies are one of the few things that I always have the ingredients to make.

Buy three kinds of meat and marinate them each in a different marinade throw them in the fridge. You’ll always have something tasty.
