Anecdotally, yesterday at the Circle K in town (metro-Charlotte, NC) a person asked no one in particular, 'Diesel at $6/gal., is America great now?' A few noes from the dozen or so patrons in the building.

I work for a trucking company and he filled up his tank before the war at the cost of diesel for $400.00. This week he paid $700.00 for diesel fuel. He does not drive a semi- truck, it's a midsize truck for hauling recycling materials.

I passed two truck stops today. There were only a couple of trucks at both of them. My daughter has a friend who is an independent truck driver. She said her friend is only taking local jobs because there isn't any money in the long distance jobs.
