⚡ NEWS EU Rejects US Threat to Ban Diesel Exports The European Union has fully rejected a US threat to ban diesel exports unless the bloc releases more fuel stocks. This wouldn't lower the costs. Just slow their rise. Diesel is a PHYSICAL thing. You can't just dump 50 million barrels of it onto the open market. You have to set up transport agreements and go through the legal and logistical nightmare that it is bringing it to bear. That process takes weeks to months. Sure it will exert a downward pressure on…

"It is in Europe’s best interest to work with the United States as we pursue multiple pathways to boost the supply of refined products and lower costs for consumers," one of the sources, a US official, told Reuters. It is currently in Europe's best interest to force this clown to back down in Iran.I will happily take €5 per liter (not gallon) for a…

US alone per 2025 data burns 4 million gallons of diesel per day, 12 days of supply. Looks like an attempt to meddle in the midterm election versus a solution to the shortage. Price decrease will be short lived. @carlquintanilla.bsky.social @cnbc.com

No EU should keep the inventory high as it's something that's too important to have ready if there's war brewing and there's around no believe in Trump who's yelling he wants greenland and pull the troops out of EU And we should never bend under threatening behaviour from someone like Trump
-
I hope this time around European leaders grow cojones, however small they can be, and start treating the US as the enemy hostile country it is.It will inflict short-term pain in Europe, but in the long-term it will be better. It's like ripping out a bandaid.
-
Why the fuck would we? We need to fuck trump's chances in the midterms. If he decides to ban exports, we can always decide to release reserves then. It's generally accepted that a diesel export ban in the US would only be useful for a limited time anyway
-
I'm always a little surprised that France never took the next step of the Messmer plan by electrifying road transport earlier. But I suppose it's so contingent on the 21st century battery tech.
-
There is a much more pressing issue that is gonna weigh down the choice. Winter. Because its coming and having reduced reserves when of something that is certain to happen is a much more tangible threat then something that isn't gaurenteed

Every day I think it would be so much simpler just to let Iran have nukes and stop the sanctions. Letting everyone have nukes would solve so many issues.
-
Count the number of wars started by the US in the last few decades and check the number of sanctions imposed on the US by other countries. Now imagine any other country doing this type of shit, they would be sanctioned to oblivion.
-
So now we have Europe pressured to reduce its diesel stockpile, while the US’s SPR are at low levels. Doesn’t bode well, if a true emergency hits.
-
About time they came around Europe has been getting a free ride for far too long - time to play ball or get cast out
-
I can't quite get across just how cucked european leadership is to the fossil fuel market. especially Germany.
-
Why is it over germany in this case? France proposed it, france diesel imports from america are around 36%.
-
Any deal with the US is no deal. They will renege on any deal immediately when it suits them.
-
The longer they wait, the more valuable diesel becomes... Ie., waiting makes them more money
-
Why don’t they release them after the midterms ?? 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
