ZeroHedge reports that all 50 members of the ECMWF ensemble forecast project a reversal of winds around the Arctic polar vortex by Nov. 12, and notes this shift from westerly to easterly winds has never occurred by this date in any year from 1991 to 2020. The earliest prior sudden stratospheric warming on record occurred Nov. 28 in both 1968 and 2025.
“This has never happened before. The Super El Niño has triggered an unprecedented early November stratospheric warming event (SSW) and wind reversal. 100% chance forecast.”
