Bluesky tells WIRED it blocked links to a leaked archive of information on 41,000 ICE, CBP, and other DHS workers because it contains people’s contact information, shared without their authorization.

Here’s TechCrunch covering it. But if a Bluesky user wants to click through to the source of the data to see for themselves, they get extra friction?

At first I hoped that fears about ICE abuses were overblown, but then I saw video after video of masked, badge-free agents manhandling and throwing grandmas and elderly/weak people to the ground and generally acting like thugs, stalking immigration courts for people trying to comply, doing nazi salutes, etc. It quickly became clear that ICE is…

It is the perfect storm. I was looking at job opportunities and ice and border control are giving huge bonuses. I looked into it more. Combine that with a bunch of bigots hungry to be paid to put hands on immigrants? Then you add into the fact that some go in thinking they doing the right thing. Then they are hit with actual quota's to deport…

NEW: Bluesky is blocking links to a leaked archive of records on 41,000+ DHS employees, citing the contact information inside. The company says it chose to block links, rather than remove posts, “to avoid limiting public discussion or restricting broader access to reporting and commentary.” Bluesky Is Blocking Links to a...

Not sure how I feel about this but I am sure about one thingThere should never ever be a masked police force in this country, it's disgustingThink about all the things we've written off in the past two years and faded from the newsLike military helicopters landing on a city building and them blowing the doors off all the apartments dragging…

Eh, I'd take any such number with a pinch of salt. Conservatives whining about gas prices immediately follow it up with pledges of continued loyalty in the same message. I haven't seen any conservative announce gas prices were enough to drive (heh) them off Trump totally.

WHOAH. Hackers obtained personal information on 41,000 DHS workers, including undercover ICE agents. Quote: “ They have our information, so it's only fair that we have theirs.”

Whatever your feelings about ICE and this administration, there are probably some undercover folks in real danger at the moment. Probably doing some real work to stop some real abuses that you’d want them to stop. (Not saying all - but likely some / many to be in that program)So - while I might agree that secretive domestic organizations like MI5…

Why do they all hide their N I L, but the minute a cop does something wrong his name and photo are plastered everywhere. If it was undercover work I could understand. But rolling around in unmarked cars with masks on is ridiculous.

This whole concept of “doxxing” has spun way out of control.Every house in the country used to get a giant paperback book every year with the name, address, and telephone number of everyone that lived in the community. This information has never been considered secret.Doxxing specifically refers to unmasking a pseudonym. That’s it. If there’s no…

Everyone else is describing much tastier meals. I had a cold white bread cheese sandwich and a banana for dinner. Hadn’t eaten since a cup of yogurt for breakfast. Not even broke, just too stressed and tired to eat.

You know how Trump and the GOP only hire sycophants? Yes, I know it's stupid as is demonstrated by today's heartwarming tale of a team of anti-fascist hackers who discovered the Department of Homeland Security's data security was pants. If they can do it, you may rest assured every semi-competent foreign intelligence agency had it yonks ago, half…

The current regime decided lawlessness was beneficial to them. Cuts both ways. I suppose people should consider carefully whether signing bonuses and the chance to abuse marginalised people with impunity is worth it. I'm fine with people making it riskier to throw in with corrupt authoritarians for personal benefit.

I don't know the exact stipulations, is it illegal to read an article containing proprietary information acquired illegally? Like, it's illegal to film war crimes in some countries, so I'm not really sure
