US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer announced that both countries will be suspended from duty-free trade benefits under the African Growth and Opportunity Act effective January 1, 2027. The suspension applies to South Africa, the program's largest beneficiary, which exported $1.7bn worth of goods under AGOA in 2025.
“President Trump found that the governments of Rwanda and South Africa are engaging in practices that are inconsistent with AGOA's eligibility criteria.”

We're pushing for closer relationships with India and Brazil, too. Just the other day, they were doing joint military exercises here in Cape Town. I don't imagine the US will like us being friendly with a Brazilian government that has outright rebuked them this year.

Your government just made exceptions for the white ones. The rest of us browns (85+% of the country) are as undesirable as any other set of Africans to the Republicans.
