    Victims identified as Rutgers graduates; investigation underway on circumstances

    Authorities confirmed the two victims as Navam Kaul (Bloomberg financial data analyst, from Sayreville) and Malaika Chitre (Acadia Pharmaceuticals quality operations specialist, from Dayton; also a pharmacy doctoral student at Temple University). Both were Rutgers 2024 graduates. Investigators are examining whether either was impaired, and whether Chitre descended to help Kaul after he fell onto the tracks.
