    Bystanders chase driver and tackle him in parking lot — The driver stopped the Tesla in front of the Baja Beach Cafe. Bystander Alex Srour, who had launched himself off his bike to avoid the vehicle, ran after the driver and recorded the pursuit on his Meta smart glasses. Srour and other pedestrians chased the man into a nearby parking lot, where he fell. Srour pinned him to the ground and held him until police arrived.

At the intersection of Thomas and Reed avenues, it struck a 25-year-old woman, who was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Another woman on the boardwalk jumped out of the way and was evaluated but unharmed.

    San Diego Police Department officers responded to a report of a stolen Tesla being tracked by its owner. About 10 minutes later, they located the vehicle driving south on Mission Boulevard and attempted to stop it, but the driver did not comply and a chase began.
