Well, they are not ai, they are LLMs and the first L stands for large. They need a lot of quickly accessible data to work properly, there are not a lot of PCs with petabytes of curated and relevant data.

Botnets already use this idea. People wouldn't even know their device is part of an AI botnet running itself. AI is very close to being self replicating and self improving.
