In all honesty oil will be drilled regardless and time has to pass for people to wakeup into climate chrisis. Old people in power have to die since they won’t be affected by it. Reminder: Norway still has plenty of non-arctic areas we're extracting from. Not starting searching and maybe drilling and delivering fossil fuels in over a decade doesn't mean that the current areas suddenly wink out of existence. And the transition to EVs is happening now ; it's not going to be put on pause until we maybe get some production…

I swear there's certain powers using "green politics" as banner to push for energy politics that only benefit a few rich people. It certainly isn't saving a single straw of grass, so why else are they doing this? (Side note, I'm norwegian and think this oil should be left in peace. This oil /gas crisis is created)

Norway can since we are not full member and plan on doing it anyway whatever EU says according to recent statements. With consequences like you said of course. But it will hurt you too aswell to punish one of your energy source. And good job fueling the never EU side in Norway with this.

The EU is reliant on fossil fuel, and will be for the foreseeable future. They don't want us to extract, but they're super reliant on us for their energy needs. They'd rather be beholden to the ME, I guess?

Australia is the leading country in the world for solar power and it's adding battery capacity faster than nearly anywhere. EVs are more the top selling car ahead of petrol, diesel and hybrid. We don't act like we are saints for it though or lecture the rest of the world.
