Just FYI: The octopus shown in the picture is a blue ring octopus, native to the Great Barrier Reef. They should NOT be eaten - they are poisonous. And yes, octopods are extremely intelligent.

I've gone 65 years without tasting Octopus (though, I've had calamari). We have no reason to eat sentient animals. It's an Asian food BECAUSE they needed to consume sea life to survive. So did many First Peoples. I've never seen Porpoise or Walrus on a menu...
