   DCWP official credits expanded enforcement for settlement

   DCWP's Samuel Levine said the Mamdani administration's investment in investigators, data scientists and lawyers over its first nine months enabled the enforcement action; Al Jazeera also detailed the settlement's breakdown, including $6.6M in payments that never reached drivers.

     No one is stopping other municipalities from adopting a similar rule. But that would require mayors and boards to stand up to corporations and at this moment in time only the “communist” NYC administration is willing to do so.

   Mamdani and DoorDash issue statements on the deal

   Mayor Mamdani called the settlement the largest labor enforcement action in city history, while DoorDash acknowledged in a statement that some drivers were underpaid or paid late due to unintentional errors.
