What to know

• Intrinsic, incorporated into Google in February, is releasing the same components it uses for real manufacturing deployments as open source under Apache 2.0.
• The release includes Intrinsic Control, Nvidia FoundationPose-based pose estimation, motion planning, grasp planning, Gazebo-powered simulation, camera calibration and Intrinsic-ROS drivers.
• Intrinsic also published the Open Machine Tending Solution, a reference design for AI-powered CNC machine tending, to demonstrate the platform.
• The move aims to accelerate 'physical AI' development, which has been slowed by the complexity of building robot control software and training models from scratch for each new robot.
