   Khartoum sources expect US to grant visa before speech

   The Sudan Tribune reported diplomatic sources in Khartoum believe the US will ultimately issue Burhan a visa before his Thursday speech, even as the standoff continues.

   UN says it is 'deeply concerned' and pressing Washington

   UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric confirmed the Secretary-General's concern that no visa had been issued and said the Secretariat had raised the matter with US authorities.

   “The Secretary-General is deeply concerned that a visa has reportedly not yet been issued to the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of the Sudan.”

   Reuters reveals US ties Burhan's visa to ceasefire signature

   Reuters, citing a Sudanese diplomatic source and a Western analyst, reported the US is withholding Burhan's visa contingent on him agreeing to the 90-day ceasefire proposed by Senior Advisor Massad Boulos, ahead of his scheduled Thursday UNGA address.

   “Ceasefires have collapsed over the course of this war because they were written about Sudan without Sudan.”
