    Heavy rainfall already recorded across northern Andhra Pradesh and Odisha — In the 24 hours to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Palasa in Srikakulam district recorded 141 mm (highest in Andhra Pradesh), with Sompeta, Kalingapatnam, and Tekkali each recording over 110 mm. In Odisha, Simliguda recorded 230 mm and Jeypore 162 mm. Of Andhra Pradesh's 2,218 automatic rain gauges, 173 recorded heavy rain, all in the north. Trees fell in Visakhapatnam, tanks and streams overflowed in Srikakulam district, and low-lying roads became waterlogged.

    The IMD reported the system centered 60 km southeast of Kalingapatnam, 140 km east-northeast of Visakhapatnam, with strong winds of 45–55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph expected Wednesday, accelerating to 75 kmph by September 24. The sea is forecast to remain rough to very rough through September 24.
