   Kemperman's political trajectory and recent contacts with far-right figures revealed

   Reporting shows Kemperman was elected to the Senate under BBB in 2023, split in May 2025, and joined FVD's Senate faction months later. Earlier in September he received Filip Dewinter, a prominent Vlaams Belang figure known for statements about 'population replacement,' at the Senate. Dewinter stated he would meet Kemperman in Antwerp in November to discuss "the current political situation in the Netherlands."

   Kemperman refuses direct comment; wife says he attended out of curiosity

   Kemperman declined to explain his presence at the protest directly, saying his spokesperson would decide whether to respond. NRC spoke with his wife Marjan, who stated her husband needed to be in The Hague for "lunch" and visited the protest out of curiosity. She noted she had been elected to the Scherpenzeel municipal council for Forum in March but stepped down citing health reasons.

   NRC reveals FVD officials attended the far-right protest — NRC reporting, analyzed with research group Kafka, revealed that FVD senator Eric Kemperman attended the September 19 protest and spent at least 90 minutes speaking with demonstrators. Party member Kayleigh van Koppen also attended, accompanied by a man convicted of racism and identified as a neo-Nazi co-founder. FVD party leadership had previously claimed the party's attendance at the protest was "fantasy" and stated they did not support the gathering.

The protest was organized by neo-Nazis, with leader Ron Sloof wearing a sun cross symbol used by neo-Nazis to represent racial superiority. Distributed flyers stated the Netherlands should prepare for a time "when parliamentary democracy ceases to exist" and the interests of the "own people" come first.
