Yep the normalisation of antisemitism from the left is deeply concerning. Some of the things I've seen recently would have made a nazi blush only a few years ago. Social media is full of it. I'm more left leaning but I've seen right wingers be more willing to call it out than our own side. It's very disappointing when only a few years ago people…

its almost as if we had some of the worst wars in human history happen on our continent which combined with our traditional values of compassion and human rights, led us to (along with our post war allies) define The 1951 Refugee Convention. To avoid some of the worst-case scenarios happen to fellow humans and ensure there is a place of refuge for…

Who are they doing this for? No one here wants it, other countries won’t applaud us for it. It’s from a different era of international politics they’re all stuck in.
-
Who are these truly sinister people? Cause you follow the power and money and it’s Zionists or Ashkenazi Jewish dynasties

This Government will reopen the UK Resettlement Route in partnership with the United Nations. We will take vulnerable refugees from camps across the world and give them the chance of a new and better life here in Britain. With the first arrivals beginning this year.
-
Problem all the boats are full of men really. This is focussed on women and children. So you’ll just get more people

Starting in October, charities and nonprofits will be able to apply to become sponsors, allowing communities and universities to host refugees ??? This is insane, no?
-
From what I understand it’s a few hundred as a start and a cap in the low thousands. Also a cap every year. I think this is fatigue from the influx of illegal and bad faith ‘asylum seekers’ we’ve seen in recent years but this is a case of people who genuinely need help.

The woman and children are from Afghanistan. Afghanistan is not a war zone. Palestinians will not be targeting women and children. Considering we just had a Hamas bodyguard caught up in a major terrorist plot, perhaps we don’t need to import more future terrorists to kill us at the moment?
-
Why are you defending a policy that aims to bring even more people to a country that is already struggling with huge government debt, a housing crisis and an overworked NHS. You think bringing more people will solve that? You do realise that the more people that come, that is a direct quality of life downgrade for everyone here including yourself?

I wonder if you care so much about cost that you'd agree that the triple lock needs to go and pensions should be means tested.
-
I am indeed shouting for the cancellation of the triple lock, plus a reduction in welfare spend across the board, plus socialisation of some essential services.
-
Genuinely do people even think. Women are the most oppressed in afghanistan why would they want to uphold a culture that doesn’t benefit them at all.
-
It’s a scheme to prioritise women and girls seeking referee status from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. One of the criticisms mentioned in the article is the numbers involved aren’t enough to affect small boat crossings. It’s an insignificant amount of taxpayers’ money to help the most vulnerable.
-
They've already brought it down and are continuing to. Labour deserves the chance to deliver on this promise the same as any elected government.
-
Women in Afghanistan won't be allowed to seek asylum in the UK without their chaperone. I suspect some 90% or so will end up being the same array of men, although a suspiciously large number of them will be LGBTQ+.
-
We should be happy to pay ever increasing levels of tax to a system that continues to act against the interests of the population.
-
Sadly we have no one to vote for that will actually deliver on what they promise. They are all a bunch of lying bastards.
-
Sure let’s import even more antisemitism, that sure hasn’t ever gone wrong before… And all this just after we learned that the UK granted asylum and then citizenship to a Hamas leaders bodyguard, it’s satire at this point
-
It's baffling to think allowing women and children their own route will cut the boats consisting of 90% men. No, the article says as much, if you read it.
