I think it's more about them being able to form ethnic enclaves and parallel economic activity where they hire their own etc. That makes integration less necessary for them and make assimilation difficult. I think it's more about being a highly visible minority tbh. That gets people aware that immigration is actually high etc. The home secretary is a pakistani woman. The former PM was an indian guy. Can't really say that the chinese etc are a visible minority.
