I have the feeling it's going to be like the iPhone Air. Lots of excitement for a really thin phone, I was excited for it, but with the crap camera and speakers it was a flop, or nearly so. I'll save judgement for tomorrow announcement, but I have the feeling the Pro is still going to continue as the gold standard for the iPhone.

I'm definetely willing to get a foldable phone IF it's good enough, what I don't think gen 1 iPhone fold is gonna be. I liked the latest samsung z fold, but then again. Paying $2500 just to watch youtube on a bigger screen is a bit overkill if I don't need a new phone anyway

Its true. I can scroll instagram reels on one side and tiktok on the other. If im feeling good I do a quadruble screen, left upper corner tiktok (my main brainrot whenever I need it hard), upper right instagram reels, lower left youtube short and lower right facebook reels.

Foldable phones have a very small market anyway and they're all extremely expensive. I don't think this will have any huge impact on anything. Especially with how expensive tech has become over the past 2 years, I don't think foldable phones will ever become mainstream.

No. Bigger, more expensive phones aren’t really a step up. They’ll be trying to integrate your phone into your brain in a few years and the adopters will branch into a new species of robot humans with no ability for creative thought outside of existing AI material.

Its definitely even more overpriced as in higher margins than the previous gen phones because its foldable now. Since we all now how Apple cultists think they will buy this stuff up as if there is no tomorrow so calls i guess.

I think the difference is that it will sell out a relatively small run, but it will be labeled a huge success without mentioning the amount of phones sold relative to, you know, the normal amount of phones that sell.

Agreed. Same stuff was said about phablets but here we are even as iPad sales slump. We’re consuming more media on our phones everyday and there’s clearly a demand for larger displays but not on a separate device.

If it's one thing I know about apple it's that they will launch something that's been out for 5 years, claim it's brand new, and their fans eat it up and buy the fuck out of it. Let's see if that pattern repeats.

Social gaming/hangout is also quite nice for VR. Being able to hang out with people who are far away and watch movies/youtube/game in an avatar of your choice is quite nice.
