Mostly anti-satellite satellites i.e. satellites that can destroy other satellites. Doesn't actually matter much, as all major powers have ground based systems that can do that too (missiles). It's mostly just done for research. The real power lies in scaling up those ground based systems so they can do it en masse (such as with lasers).

The idea that if you tell the public then you also indadverntely alert your enemies just seems to invite secrecy at the highest level. It's hard to not think some of these things are true when they're incentivized to hide them. Not to mention the specific history on UAP has some compelling aspects that speak to the veracity of it
