Microsoft gutting Halo Studios and giving the Halo series to Activision, who have pumped countless soulless COD games in recent years and have aggressively microtransactioned customization is by far the worst possible outcome that has happened. Halo problems will only get worse

The ironic thing is you could pass the IP over to a passionate indie dev and they’d be more likely to churn out “the greatest Halo game ever” than any AAA studio.

Knowing late 2000's Microsoft, I would not be shocked if that was the case. Especially since a lot of the devs and leaders from the SNES/N64 days didn't leave until around then. Chris and Tim Stamper, the founders of Rare, left in 2007, just a year after the first Viva Piñata was released.
